For your consideration is this collection of four (4) brass locks from Squire, Old English, primer lock maker from England since 1870. These padlocks all come with their own individual key, plus a spare key for each lock as well. These primitive pieces of hardware date back to the early 1900's. These architectural accessories are done in solid brass including the shackle. The keyhole escutcheon sports a sliding pocket door designed to keep debris out of the 4 lever cylinder mechanism.
The metalware case is fastened together via flat head brass rivets. This old locksmith collectible has a magnificent ornately cut silhouette in contrast to the plain geometric locks made today. Blends with a variety of interior decorating schemes: English Regency, French Empire, Renaissance Revival, Gothic, Medieval, Folk Art, Aesthetic Movement, Victorian, Arts & Crafts, and more. W ever this safety instrument ends up, one thing is certain: It will bring old world charm and sophistication to any space it occupies. The body measurements: 3" x 2 3/4" x 5/8" thick on the large one: Model #770. ($60 alone). The other three locks are all the same Model #330 and measure 1 7/8" x 1/5/8" x 1/2" thick.
